Mid-Century Interior for Family Home with a Mediterranean Touch
Package
The Intentional Home
This mid-century Mediterranean interior design project transformed a 1950s family home into a calming, soulful space for a mum of two. She rarely entertains, so the focus was on creating a space that nurtures everyday family life: cooking together, stretching out with a book, or simply enjoying quiet moments.
I kept the home’s original mid-century character as a foundation, then layered in Mediterranean textures and warmth: microcement walls, travertine-inspired countertops, bamboo flooring, and thoughtful decorative elements to bring softness and soul. The blend of mid-century architecture and Mediterranean materials created a warm, open layout for everyday family life.
The entire ground floor layout was reimagined. I opened up the living, dining, and kitchen into a flowing space filled with light. I repositioned windows to bring in more daylight and encourage natural airflow, making the space feel fresh and comfortable all day long. Hidden storage keeps things tidy without disrupting the calm.
Functionality was just as important as feeling. I created a private home office, a separate WC, and a tucked-away laundry room. A flexible media room doubles as a guest space, with its own full ensuite bathroom, perfect for visiting family or a movie night in.
Everything was designed to support slow living, with balance, wellbeing, and ease at the core.
