Moody & Nostalgic Kitchen
Package
The Intentional Home
This kitchen wasn’t designed around a specific style. It started with a feeling. Moody. Nostalgic. Elegant, but grounded.
I worked with layered textures to build that atmosphere: natural wood, marble, limewash walls, brass details, and a touch of glass. The marble countertops feature a double bullnose edge, adding visual interest, subtle lines, and a gentle pattern that plays with the light. Lighting is layered too, not just to illuminate, but to shape the mood.
The breakfast bar was custom designed for the west wall, with gentle curves that echo the cabinetry of the coffee/bar station, and soften the overall geometry of the space.
The visual anchor of the room is the range and range hood wall, intentionally positioned as the focal point. From the arched opening opposite, the sightline draws you straight to it, framing the heart of the kitchen.
The layout adheres to the working triangle principle and maintains a clear separation between the active and the passive zones. To ensure enough clearance and flow in the active zone, the new design doesn't feature a kitchen island or peninsula, but allows abundant preparation space thanks to a countertop running along three walls. Unloading space is ensured at one or both sides of the pantry, refrigerators, dishwasher, range, sink.
